I just know that the PCB doesn't quite match the schematic for the actual Shure M-65. The 834 definitely looks more complex as it uses 3 tubes as opposed to two, but I don't see any ... The kit was surprisingly easy to build, despite the missing instructions. I turned it on for the first time yesterday and it seems to work as expected, and also sounds quite good.

It is a super nice sounding unit. also you can control the overall gain of the unit by the voltage divider on the feedback loop. so if you need a bit more gain, run the calc and figure out what you need to replace it with, or the easy way, just take a SWAG and insert lower … WebApr 17, 2024 · The original EAR834 schematic posted above shows all three tubes worth of heaters being fed in series, thus needing 37.8 Volts (12.6 X 3, or 6.3 X 6) with the exact same pair of 2200 uF caps at 40V rating shown in the schematic as shown in the stenciling on your board (yikes, there's not much over-engineering in that cap rating).
